Passion. Inspiration. Dedication.
Nicolas Cattan has decades of experience in the hospitality industry. Born into a family of hoteliers, Nicolas studied at the prestigious Glion Institute in Switzerland, as well as at Cornell University in the United States, before returning to revolutionise Beirut’s dining and catering scene.
In 1998, he founded Cat and Mouth, a luxury catering service with a personal touch that quickly developed a reputation for quality, innovation, transparency and reliability, growing by word-of-mouth into one of the most respected caterers in the region.
Today, just over twenty years later, the company employs 200 permanent members of staff, and has organised more than 20,000 receptions and served more than 60,000,000 individual meals at events all around the Middle East.
The figures speak for themselves but by its own reckoning, the company’s greatest success has been in building a network of loyal clients and suppliers. As a family-run business, Cat and Mouth places great value on relationships and its bespoke, personalised approach, and willingness to go the extra mile, has made it one of the region’s most trusted partners of choice.
Famous for its sumptuous events and lavish weddings - a number of them royal – Cat and Mouth is a truly versatile organisation, as capable with corporate functions as it is with private receptions, and manages an arm devoted to operating restaurants, canteens and cafeterias in top companies and educational establishments.
With the second generation of Cattans already involved, Cat and Mouth has blossomed, transitioning from Lebanese start-up to regional institution, without ever losing the passion and creativity that first helped make its name.
